April 22, 2010 – I love love love The District!! Local and organic creative food – Delicious! The wings are huge and cheap!! The best is the blue cheese ones. Happy hour pricing is very inexpensive plus they make their own beer! I have been going here about every month, plus I attend Green Drinks which is at the same venue. LOVE IT!
July 16th, 2010 – If you’ve longed for a Pancake Breakfast during Stampede that didn’t require a 7 am appearance, The District was where you should have been last night. Around 11 pm, they opened up the line for their Midnight Pancake Breakfast. Two fluffy pancakes, some bacon and syrup included with a drink purchase or a donation to CUPS One World.
The bacon was my favourite part. The District knows their bacon. Try out their bucket of bacon, complete with syrup to dip it in, the next time you’re down that way.
Our server had a smile to die for and the personality to match. That didn’t surprise me. The staff at The District has always impressed me. Why should Stampede time be any different?
To top off the pancake experience, Miss Quincy, an upbeat singer/songwriter from BC, hit the streets to serenade the pancake crowd before heading back inside to finish her set.
Midnight pancake breakfasts, cozy live shows or even just buckets of bacon, The District serves it up well every time.
Oh, and if you’re looking for an extended menu, check the walls. You’ll find many items listed on chalkboards mounted around the interior.

July 11th, 2010 – I came here with a friend about a week ago and was thoroughly impressed.
We ordered crab cakes and yam fries to start and they were amazing! The flavours in the crab cakes were fantastic and everything tasted really fresh. We also shared the bleu cheese, avocado, and bacon burger that was just as good as our appies.
The service was fast and attentive, the live music was great, and the overall atmosphere was inviting. Looking forward to my next visit!
May 19th, 2010 – My gf and I went there “accidentally” since we turned up too early for our cooking classes a few blocks away so decided to go for drinks (only me) and appies here… We enjoyed the organic menu and the different types of cheeses and meats that were presented. There was live music which was cool and the waitress was really nice. So nice, that she even called the chef (who was off) to make sure some of our cheese choices were pasteurized since my gf is pregnant. I thought that was really good customer service.
The meat and cheese we ordered were great. I can understand some people’s remarks on the menu being on the chalkboard, but really, that’s what makes the place a little different and we all could use something different in this city and I find this place to be exactly that but not too overboard.
Will go again for sure.

May 18th, 2010 – I came across this montreal style pub in an environmentally friendly coupon book and I’m really glad I did. The place is open yet cozy, with comfortable booths and bistro style tables and even had high chairs for the little ones. The menus are on the wall for all to see (enviromentally friendly) and all the food is local and organic when possible. The service was very personable and swift and the food was tasty. I would definitely go again and try some of the delicious looking appetizers. Overall a nice place for lunch and would be great for after work pints leading to a nice dinner.
May 16th, 2010 – Went there recently for wing night. Wings were awesome and affordable. Great flavours. Well designed restaurant with a very cool vibe. The house beer (IPA) was good – not great, but they have a wide selection of bottled beer to choose from as well. Our server Jerrod was nothing less than excellent. Great service – the food came quick and was enjoyed immensely.

Tonight we had about the best meal we’ve ever had at “The District”.
My hubby and I don’ t eat meat when we eat out because we care about
the treatment of the animals we eat. When we found your restaurant on
Twitter (and recommendation from a friend in the same day
coincidentally) and we read that the meat is all humanely raised, we
went immediately.
We enjoyed everything we had – We go to Vegas specifically to eat -
and this topped any meal we’ve had there to date and we’ve eaten at
all the top restaurants. The service was great – and the gift
certificates from Chinook pretty much paid for our meal! LOL.
I love your concept – the only complaint – it’s too far from my house!
We’ll be back – look for us as regular weekly patrons!

Gilchrist has his favorites, well we have ours too! Ours, well they have less to do with name dropping, and more to do with how good the food is. Furthermore, when we review a restaurant, they simply don’t know who we are, so we get the real deal, the real service, the real food, not the more cautiously prepared food they serve to the critics. These are the restaurants that touched our souls, tantalized our palates, and made us crave more, and more and more in 2010.
